Concerned with the evolution of modern communication and the forms through which it occurs, traditional modes of fine art and craft are utilized in a meticulous consideration of the post-human condition. The first in a series of three “translations,” the image of the “BurgerBagel” emerges from the rubble of a common online encounter between artist and machine, later removed from its digital form through re-creation in paint and beads. Individual beads take on the form of pixelated information. The second image exists as a quantitatively exact replica of the first, distortions occurring through the inconsistency of the medium itself.
