BFA 2012
Acrylic paint and medium, cradled wood panel, 2016, 44"w x 24"h
I am not a traditional painter, not in my approach to this painting anyway. Rather, I wanted to capture a feeling of lived experience. A traditional painting might try to copy an urban or rural landscape as seen outside a window. I applied thick impasto paint not with brushes but with tools you might buy at the hardware store. I wanted to appeal to the senses: the eyes, the body, the mind—a sensory recollection, a memory of something. Hence the title of this piece, Memory of a Walk.
