Of all places to find a flower, an abandoned incinerator? While on a photo exploration with a fellow photographer, we came across a graffiti-filled building. Among the chaos of spray-painted words and phrases was this peaceful flower. So out of place—almost like a rose in a garden of weeds. I manipulated the colors to make them the opposite of what a flower and heart would look like in order to express the odd placement of these positively connotative objects in a dilapidated environment.
