Symmetry is often equated with aesthetic harmony and is a slippery and impermanent symbol of perfection. My work operates in the gray area where symmetry is plausible but just out of reach. I manipulate structural imagery, such as jungle gym equipment, to depict visual hierarchies that tangentially relate to the social and political structures that shape the world around me. My work aims to break down binaries, expose pluralistic truths and embrace contradictions.
