2012, Beaded skin with Nike logo over desk lamp, 11"w x 13"h x 7"d
Tight skins composed of beads cover objects giving them new associations, changing the way we see the objects. The skins are designed to mimic corporate products, putting the logo into the context of how the products are generally perceived. While the skin references the corporation, the logo seems oddly placed on its new product, seemingly unrelated. This odd application of the logo makes the placement altogether absurd. This absurdity is mimicked in the skin through its construction, composed obsessively through repetitive acts of stringing beads together in tiny loops.
A Daimler Company
Due to the building guidelines that are in place in response to the COVID-19 situation, we are unable to install a new art exhibit in our Farmington Hills, Michigan and Fort Worth, Texas offices.
Thankfully, the majority of artists who currently have their work on display in our Michigan and Texas locations have graciously allowed us to continue to do so through the spring of 2021. We would like to extend a huge thank you to those artists and we look forward to continuing with a new exhibition in the summer of 2021.
