I have had a long fascination with the combined effect of light and time on landscapes. I have been in awe of the light I have experienced in the landscape at different times of day and in different seasons. I wanted to explore it further through my painting. The fleeting time and loss of light that we experience toward twilight, the light that gradually gets stronger with the morning, then the day; the mysteries of darkness and the pockets of earthly and unearthly lights that appear in the urban night. The brightness of the sun that can be so strong that it blurs and one looks to shade for comfort. We feel a variety of effects from light seen at different times.
