heat on subway transfers, 2007, 20"w x 28"h x 1"d
This work depicts the role of a woman in her daily life. She is the warmth and the principal pillar of a family, for she is a mother, a daughter, a sister, a grandmother, a wife and a friend. She is a voice within society, a defender of women’s rights, a poet, an artist, a mediator and wears many more hats. Without a doubt she is not only such a symbol but also a movement of life. To create this work I applied heat-emitting objects as painting instruments on heat-sensitive subway transfers.
