Faceted Illusion

2010, Screen print, 54"w x 21"h

My body of work consists of non representational screen prints. The central focus is dedicated to geometric shapes and the study of past cultures with emphasis on pattern. I use bright colors which create variety, while the patterns create rhythm and resist focal points throughout the piece. The use of printmaking and reproduction of multiples (as well as the ability to piece them together) intrigue me. The flat colors used on the plastic type paper allow for a non-descript example so that a viewer can imagine the ornamentation on various items or as art or for utilitarian function. The influence is pulled from many different areas including geometry and Owen Jones’ Decorative Ornamentation.

A Daimler Company

Due to the building guidelines that are in place in response to the COVID-19 situation, we are unable to install a new art exhibit in 2020 in our Farmington Hills, Michigan and Fort Worth, Texas offices.

Thankfully, the majority of artists who currently have their work on display in our Michigan and Texas locations have graciously allowed us to continue to do so for another year, through the spring of 2021. We would like to extend a huge thank you to those artists and we look forward to continuing with a new exhibition in the summer of 2021.
