Representing the state of self as seen through multiple phases and viewpoints, my work questions the dualities of existence and being. Drawn to psychological introspection, I am interested in the stranger within, the part of one’s self that we are unable and unwilling to recognize. In a paradoxical push-pull between the desire to obscure and the desire to reveal, I aim to depict the conflicting dialogue between the stranger and the self. Specifically questioning the marriage between the two, my work considers the cause of said alienation and the possibility for reconciliation.
