Ink and gouache on linen, 2017, 47"w x 69"h
I use canvas as a piece of ordinary fabric. I fold, press and unfold the canvas in the way people treat textiles in daily life. Through repetitive action, black ink is pressed into the canvas resulting in dense folds and layers of ink stains. The center, the edges, the front and the back of the canvas are shifted in the process of random folding, leading to an unpredictable image that is revealed only when the canvas is unfolded.
