My sculptures are laser-cut and engraved acrylics in several layers that are meant to encourage different visual perceptions that are possible in a single piece of art. I use Illustrator software to create my designs, and I operate the laser cutter on clear or colored acrylic. With this new technology I revisit op art and add more dimensions to it to provoke a sense of greater depth, illusion and movement. I use a controlled electric light source in an enclosed space, which creates spatial complexity and affects our sense of reality.
