The letters on this compass represent the cardinal directions, translated into Spanish and reversed to allow for a reading of the phrase “No sé” or the word “nose.” These are not directly related, except that they refer to the self: The first translates to “I do not know,” and the second is a prominent facial feature—part of our image, sometimes our identity. Most important, it is one of the tools that we use to navigate the world. Do you trust your nose?
