My work is rooted in autobiographical experience. Putting off the Washing Up is a photograph of the saucers I used to mix watercolor paints on. Having many of them allowed me to put off the doing these dishes until they were all dirty. The image was first used in an installation entitled Putting off the Washing Up and Mending which was a feminist comment on housework– never ending chores that we do in an attempt to keep chaos at bay.
