I have always found people to be the most interesting aspect of life. Every single person has his or her own unique story and personality. Using art I explore the emotional narratives found in various stories from people I meet. This particular self-portrait is an examination of a typically difficult emotion to capture, laughter. Rembrandt has always been my biggest influence, and through studying him I have created my updated response to his work. Wearing today’s luxury garments, I have shown part of my ever-changing persona in the form of a laugh and a different view of the particular character I play.
