My recent work examines the commodified utopias created within condo developments. In Condo Exterior I use the isometric perspective found in architectural planning and mix it with the symbolic expression of emoticons. As a result my drawing is thin and unreal, like a film set viewed from the wrong angle. It is a projection of a building waiting for the reality of lived existence to inhabit it. However, like any building development, it has ideas of how lived existence should occur within it. When one notices the lack of amenities, it is not clear that the building has every human need in mind.
