2013, Mixed media, Dimensions variable
In this body of work, I challenge the notion of what can be classified as art. Infiltrating the art community, I select discarded pieces that did not fit in with other artists’ work. By applying a minimal painting method, each piece receives the same amount of attention; I glorify form with an intuitive color selection. Through this, the pieces are transformed into art objects. The intention is for the objects on the wall to be distributed at the end of the exhibit. In exchange for an object, a photograph documenting the individual with that object will be taken, unifying individual and object into a visual memory. This establishes an interpersonal relationship between the artist, object and viewer.
